The temporary permits enable a goods carriage to ply in a State other than its home State. Thus a vehicle registered in Pondicherry and permit issued in Pondicherry desiring to enter other state may obtain a temporary permit in Pondicherry, to ply in other state for a maximum period of 30 days. The fees to be paid in Rs.100/- and tax has to be paid. The temporary permit can be obtained at the department. Similarly vehicle coming from other states can get Temporary permit at check-post at Gorimedu, Puducherry service is allowed at once.
