CHECK POSTs:-  Puducherry region viz., Gorimedu, Kalapet, Kanniakoil, Madagadipet, Thirukannur and at Karaikal region viz.,Vanjure, Nandalar and Ambagarathur. The Special Permits and Temporary permits are issued at Checkpost Gorimedu around the clock.

Any Contract Carriage/Tourist Taxi like Omni Buses, Vans, Taxis etc, desiring to ply any State other than the Home state may obtain special permits for limited period and one round trip. The application form, the details of the tour program and place to be visited shall be submitted along with fees. At Present the Special Permit are issued at Gorimedu Checkpost only.The service is allowed at once.

The vehicle coming from other states can get Temporary permit around the clock at Puducherry region viz., Gorimedu, Kalapet, Kanniakoil, Madagadipet, Thirukannur, and at Karaikal region Vanjure, Nandalar and Ambagarathur.
